CONSTITUTION of THE CRESTVIEW – MEADOWLANDS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
ARTICLE 1 - NAME
The name shall be: THE CRESTVIEW- MEADOWLANDS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
ARTICLE 2 – COMMUNITY BOUNDARY
The Community boundary shall be as follows:
On the North: Meadowlands Drive
On the East: Merivale Road
On the South: The southerly limit of the WMC (Woodroffe-Merivale Corridor)
On the West: Woodroffe Avenue
ARTICLE 3 – OBJECTIVES
ARTICLE 4 - MEMBERSHIP
Annual Membership shall be open to all residents or property owners on a per household basis within the boundaries as described in Article 2 above, and who are at least 18 years of age. Annual membership shall be at a cost of not less than $10 per household. Annual membership may be renewed up and before each Annual General Meeting.
ARTICLE 5 – STRUCTURE
The Association’s affairs shall be administered by an Executive Committee elected at the Annual General Meeting or at a Special Meeting from among those members in good standing and comprising of the following 6 officers who shall serve 2-year terms, except for Members-at-Large, who shall serve 1-year terms.
President, Vice-President, Past-President (if available), Secretary, Treasurer, Members-At-Large (minimum of 2 maximum of 5)
ARTICLE 6 - RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
(1) To manage the affairs of the Association consistent with the objectives listed in Article 3 above
(2) To ensure that proper accounts are kept of all funds and other assets of the
Association
(3) To hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) at which it will deliver to the
membership an annual progress report dealing with:
(a) the state of the membership and of the Association’s finances;
(b) major issues affecting the Association and action taken to date in addressing them.
(4) To call for a Special Meeting of the Association, when necessary, to deal with
issues that require a prompt response from the membership that cannot be delayed until the AGM.
(5) To ensure that the membership is given at least 14 days notice in advance of the holding of the AGM and at least 7 days notice in advance of a Special meeting.
(6) To hold at least 3 meetings of the Committee per annum in addition to the AGM
(7) To execute promptly and properly all approved resolutions of the AGM and Special Meetings
(8) To appoint and dissolve, at its discretion, ad hoc committees or special
representatives to assist it in managing the affairs of the Association.
ARTICLE 7 – QUORUM(1) Four (4) Three (3) members of the Executive Committee shall constitute a quorum for a Committee meeting
(2) Ten members of the Association shall constitute a quorum for the AGM or a Special Meeting
ARTICLE 8 - MEETING RULES
All meetings of the Association shall be conducted in accordance with Roberts’ Rules of Order
ARTICLE 9 - AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION
Amendments may only be made at the AGM or a Special Meeting provided that any amendment is adopted by two-thirds majority vote of members present at such meeting.

- To represent the local municipal interests of citizens residing within the boundaries of the Crestview-Meadowlands community.
- To promptly monitor and convey information concerning relevant municipal issues to all members in good standing of the Association.
- As necessary, liaise with and provide support for, other groups in the community and adjoining communities such as other community associations, tenant organizations, recreation and sports bodies, school parent councils, churches when there are common community goals and objectives.
- To develop a sense of community spirit among residents and to promote and encourage social and recreational activities within the community.
